The African literary magazine, AFREADA will starting today Friday October 7, 2016 publish outstanding short fiction selected from the entries to the 2016 Writivism Short Story Prize. The magazine’s partnership with the Centre for African Cultural Excellence started with AFREADA’s Editor in chief, Ms. Nancy Adimora forming part of the 2016 Writivism Short Story Prize reading team.
The twelve stories that will be published under this partnership were picked from the hundreds of entries to this year’s short story prize, outside the long listed stories. The stories, from five different African countries show the diversity and high quality of the short fiction submitted to the four year old short story prize.
Both AFREADA and Writivism are committed to showcasing the best short fiction from emerging African writers based on the continent, and hope that you will enjoy the stories. The first story will be published today, and more will follow, until Friday, December 2, 2016. We hope that you will enjoy the stories.
Meanwhile, AFREADA recently published a new story from Acan Innocent, the winner of the 2016 Writivism Short Story Prize. You can read Machodugo, from their website here.
