In November 2013, CACEAfrica called for entries for the 2014 Writivism Creative Writing Workshop, inviting emerging African writers to submit their short pieces. From the numerous applicants (over a hundred), about sixty outstanding writers from over nine African countries have been selected to participate in the workshop this year, to be held in Cape Town, Abuja, Harare, Kampala and Nairobi on 08th February 2014.
The workshop will be led by Beatrice Lamwaka, Zukiswa Wanner, Rachel Zadok, Ukamaka Olisakwe, Monica Cheru and other writers of note. The workshop participants will later be paired with mentors, with whom they shall work to develop flash fiction to be published in South African, Zimbabwean, Ugandan, Kenyan and Nigerian newspapers.
